Christmas is a big deal in our country in terms of celebrations. However, when you’re in Cebu it even extends to the Sinulog festival. It’s no secret that Cebuanos love to have fun and enjoy life in general. Cebu is the place to be, especially during the yuletide season. If you want to have a memorable Christmas experience in Cebu, do check out these amazing places:

Cebu Ocean Park 

Cebu Ocean Park is affiliated with the famous Manila Ocean Park. This magnificent marine theme park features the biggest oceanarium in the country. It had its grand opening last Oct 2019, but before that, they had a soft opening on Aug 24 where visitors got to see some attractions. Expect to see other amazing attractions like the Crocodile Cage, Sea Trek, Bird Feeding, Lories, Seven Seas, Main Tank Gallery, Stingray Dry Interaction, Amphitheatre, and the Jungle Trek and Creepy Critters. Should you get hungry while strolling the place, you can grab a meal from the convenient food hall shops. It also has an event space for those who want a unique location for their parties and gatherings. The price of the tickets ranges from 600 pesos (local resident weekday rate) to 800 pesos, depending on the day you visit. Cebu Ocean Park is a stone’s throw away from SM Seaside at the South Road Properties.

Anjo World Theme Park 

Anjo World Theme Park is the first world-class theme park in the Visayas region. This exhilarating attraction is located in Minglanilla, Cebu and is owned by the Belmont Group. Anjo World is an integrated entertainment establishment designed for the entire family. If you plan to visit soon, then here are some of the exciting rides and attractions you must try.

  • Anjo Eye

Anjo Eye is the largest Ferris Wheel in the Visayas area, measuring 200 feet tall. You will have ten minutes of pleasure sitting in one of its spacious, air-conditioned units while listening to soothing music. This is expected to be operational on Nov 30, 2019.

  • The Pharaoh

The Pharaoh is Cebu’s first spinner coaster and is also one of the “extreme rides” offered by Anjo World. This will also open to the public this coming Nov 30 together with the Anjo Eye.

Waterworld Cebu

Waterworld Cebu is the first and largest business venture of the Eon Group of Companies outside of it’s Iloilo location. This 3-hectare water park is the biggest of its kind in Central Visayas and is scheduled to open on Dec 14, 2019. It is located in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Bringing food and beverages inside the premises is not allowed. However, they have many food outlets to serve you should you feel hungry. Get your food and drinks from Snack Shack, Tiki Island Bar, Barbecue Bay, or Food World.

If you plan to visit Waterworld soon, then prepare at least 400 pesos for the entrance fee (during weekdays). They also have air-conditioned function rooms should you want to celebrate with your family.

 

Cebu Westown Lagoon

Cebu Westown Lagoon resort is located in Metro Cebu. Its main attraction is the man-made lagoon where both children and adults can swim and relax. There are also loungers in this area where visitors can rest after swimming. Westown also offers pools for adults and children alike. For those who want a more exciting experience, they can check out the waterslides in the resort. There are also heated jacuzzis where adults can chill while sipping their drinks. The resort also has many cottages for visitors who want to stay overnight. Take note that while there is no corkage for the food and beverages brought in, you do have to pay corkage for alcoholic drinks and lechon. Expect to pay an entrance fee of PHP 300 (adults) and PHP 200 (kids). As for room rates, they charge PHP 4,800 (Deluxe Room) up to PHP 9,800 (Family Room). Cottages can be rented for 500 pesos (small) and 2,000 for the larger ones.
